Living Life
Hey! Slowly on the mend. Father's Day was rainy, been waiting to tear off our roof. Tons of house projects. But this is only our second summer in the new house. We had a crazy storm on Monday and lots of things need to be replanted. But the kids are doing well getting happy lego time, going to the pool here and there, riding bikes around. We tried to bake a cake together and I spaced out and added way too much water. In an effort to recoup I added extra flour. This being a gf cake I knew it was risky but we took our chances. Ha. We had tons of batter and ended up yeilding 3 layers, who knew right? However, once we excitedly frosted it and much later on got the chance to cut into it... disaster, latex looking insides! Crazy, but I put this here because it's been like this lately. Ups and downs on the little and big level. Normally it doesn't feel highly significant but my time is definitely more divided these days. I can barely stay awake past 9 pm! The baby is doing great, burgeoning on almost a year, I'm super thankful, but life is always a mystery to me! Anyway, hoping to make mores sense of where I really need to put my energy these days. Wanting to be a good mother, person... Computer time just seems to take a backseat. I still need to sew a few more new curtains for the house yet! And, however, even with all of this of what can feel like weird vibes from time to time, I try to remind myself I can always give things a go again. So I'll probably be making C another cake for Father's Day, a because 'your a rad Dad cake' and cross my fingers... Plant more seedlings like Bok Choi for a Fall Harvest because the Rainbow Chard and Red Swiss don't like to be pummeled with water and... go with it. I can hear another storm brewing as I write this anyway, lightning filling up the sky and thunder rumbling.
