the movie the lady in white i was completely obsessed with as a child.  first off it had ghosts and old houses and was about children.  also, i was in love with lucas haas.  the first time i saw the movie the watcher in the woods i was pretty little, so little i remember seeing it at daycare in the morningtime.  it freaked the heck out of me but i was amazed and even stoked.  the images of the mirrors and the misty settting of emotions in the woods stick with me till this day.

still workin' on the doll project.  chris' mom and aunt took me for a drive out to the country the other day to visit a quilting shop and i found some good material to use as the backing for the male and female dolls, it's a combed more durable kind of cotton.  will post photos soon.   the quilt shop was actually pretty amazing, they had tons of dogs and cats roaming around and it was on a farm in two buildings worth.  the owner of the quilt shop had her house, barn, two store buildings and farm all on the lot.  cool to see.  lots of trees and snow and a couple ganders/ geese.

this is the sketch for the next painting i am gearing up to do.  i am really nervous about this one.  i've had this

drawing sitting in my head for awhile.  time to get it out onto 11 x 15 paper.

hope i do okay all in all.  yikers, i don't want to psych myself out.  looking forward to finishing it up though! 

***  p.s.  my brother signed he and I up for a reunion contest, i even had to ask him if it was a 'real thing' or not.  and normally i'd try to keep my 'private life' just that.  it's easier for everyone that way.  but i really would love to see him and for him to meet my family.  we we're kinda like best buds when i was 6, he's 14 years older than me but he was always so kind.  needless to say i haven't officially hung out with the guy in nearly 20 years.  it's all just so crazy.  well apologies for coming out of nowhere with this stuff.  anyhow, we'll see what happens.  wish us luck if you so choose!
now back to the ol' grindstone.

Here is the my finished painting I photographed in the beginning stages of a few posts ago.

The image still needs a few adjustments...  I'm fixin' to screenprint my 'worry dolls' sometime this week.

My husband just purchased a neat 500 watt halogen work lamp which will

cut my exposure time amazingly short!  I always use the most 'ghetto' if you will, of setups

one even used to include a desk lamp a stack of books and a 100 watt bulb.

It worked though, was super cheap and a space saver.

Pocket Items, Caves and More

Today I thought I'd post things that are related to a deposit of things as in 'pocket', be it objects or veins of crystals or bookcases with a hideout or secret nests in a tree or black holes.  Also, I posted some info on my current project.  Hope everyone's weekend was magical!  I went for a walk in the snow around the neighborhood.  I miss going for long walks, but in the meantime I'll take what I can get.

Winter in Iowa

 Hello all!  Here are the photos I mentioned last post that I took with my cell phone (apologies ahead of time for photo quality) on our weekend out to check out Smith Lake and Call Park here in town.  Another work update/ post on it's way!  Hopefully this weekend (I'm thinking Saturday).  Happy Winter/ Pre-Spring y'all!  I still am not sure who the readers are of this blog, but I do appreciate and am thankful to you guys, whoever you may be!

  Although the stores around here on the 'Main St.' are dressing their windows for Spring it's just a wee way's away for us living here in the Midwest.  But truly that's okay because I know my son and us as a fam still have a bit more snow adventuring to do.  Over at Smith Lake they place an old car (in this case a 'race car') on the frozen solid waters and have wagers as to when it'll start to sink in.  The person who guesses the right day or so wins a prize.  It's hard to know right now when the water will start melting while there's still quite a few people who are all set up with their ice-shacks enjoying some ice-fishing.  Enoch was super pumped to explore the frozen scene but not at first, he was pretty weary.  We drove our car out on the lake for a short spell.  Then C and Enoch decided to head out on foot.  It was his (little man's) first time stepping out on a frozen lake.
