lightning and tornados

this saturday i had the chance to experience my first ever tornado watch in real life.  it was crazy but everyone took it in such stride i kinda didn't trip though my adrenaline was pumping for sure.  we live right next to the tornado drill siren.  it sounded and downstairs to the basement we went and watched from a slight distance flashing light the little halfwindows.  nothing was really happening so we went back upstairs to peek outside, there was a gaint black oceanic cloud over our town and electric streaks dashed from the edges of it as a wee peak began to form near the outskirts of town.  then they sounded the second siren and a third.  all in all the only excitement to happen in our town was the sirens and the grand display of sights which i did film but really need to edit down.  other towns got worse for sure.  e-man was staying with the grandparents along with his younger cousin.  it was me and c that night with little iris.  i stayed up till 5 am along with the news' 'tornado watch' till the storm passed onto minnesota.  i looked out the window towards the end of it all and our neighborly bunny was finally milling about now that winter's gone and he was looking at the storm with me.  after a while he turned and ran towards the window and we were eye to eye.  then we watched the clouds and thick bolts of light dance around and leap with thunder some more.  eventually we got tired and he ran off and i decided it was time for c and i and iris to head upstairs.   i wonder what the next tornado experience will be like this season.  i'm used to earthquakes and floods and mudslides and wildfires over in california but tornados i never thought of much.  much respect mother nature.
