there was this dream, and it seemed so real...

When I was about 19 I remember this dream I had.  In reality I had passed out on the floor, my roommate and I didn't have a beds yet and boxes dotted my nighttime visuals in the tiny studio located over a bar in the Tenderlions of San Francisco.  In my dream however I heard the elevator click on our floor and out of the elevator came fresh as the beautiful daisies and magenta bouganvillas, my grandmother who had passed, along with my other grandmother who is very much alive and her sister (my great aunt) who had just crossed over.  Man I was so excited to see such familiar faces and they had come to see me in the new place.  I felt like they were supportive of me, like they wanted me to push harder and keep going.  Little did I know I'd totally freak out months later and leave San Francisco for Los Angeles only to return few years later to live and eventually marry.  Anyway, I can still hear them now and the urging of my tiny daughter!  My Great Aunt Carmen fell deaf when she was a wee tyke, she had a tough ol' life and it made her a pretty astute young women who made samples for local designers and could sew her way out of a cage with her eyes shut.  When she passed I recieved her book collection, reference books on plants and healing properties, the mystery of history and unknown civilizations.  I'd love to talk to her again anyday!   So the other day I was feeling pretty down and that's when the dream popped in my head.  My daughter Iris' watercolors were sitting in front of me and her papers so I jotted down the first image that sprang to mind.  Anyway, there's that story.
So here are some new thangs again...
