Getting Out

This weekend which starts tonight for us, as E has no school tomorrow, we'll be driving over to Minnesota, Minneapolis and get a hotel for the night.  I am actually pretty stoked to be getting out of town and maybe get some yummy food that I haven't had access to in a while, like Vegetarian Indian food or a vegan breakfast spot.  I never thought these things would be so dearly missed by me, like Ethiopian food, there was such a good place to eat in Portland or this goodness and they were near our hood, god I miss yam donuts!!! Or my favorite Chinese restaurant in P-town that was almost as good as Golden Era or Jasmine Tea House in SF, but the brunch was the bestest there and the guys loved my family which was pretty nice.  But I digress, so we'll be going to Minneapolis which is a giant city in comparisions to here, crazy but true.  We'll be doing silly but fun things like going to the Mall of America and hitting up the Camp Snoopy or Legoland.  I'm pretty much happy about doing these new things and if anyone had any recommendations for stuff to do in the lovely city of Minneapolis it would be nice to know...  There are about 5 restuarants in our whole town and very few shops and stores, not bad just what it is, a little ol' farm town called Algona, Iowa.

Around the house the seeds I planted are sprouting like crazy.  And I am posting some book inspiration and my latest painting I am working on which is a sketch for now.  I am also posting some clay doll photos as motivation for getting the ol' ball rolling on my 'Worry Dolls', it feels like a long time since I have screen printed and I guess I'm psyching myself out a little.  Iris has been coloring up a storm, and she got so into it that after a couple afternoons and nights of working out different colors on the paper she poured juice on it today and ripped it in half!  Yep, anyway take 'er easy and I'll be rumblin' thru soon.
