The Voice in the Snow

above image:  parkman's travel tales 1849 (a young man spitting a bullet into the barrel to load his rifle.) remington art.

Today the snow was floating down like crazy.  I even went outside to film it a couple of times.
I watched a few victorian/ pagan inspired music videos then I really started feeling the supernatural powers of the snow, I think I even saw a spirit out there!  Just sayin'.

'Telluric'

There is a voice in that snow, the wind did show.
But what does it want to inform me?
Blow and come to life in the trees the water can do,
even when white and temporal and frighteningly new.
The wind raced down the street as five gusty silhouettes then one raced toward me
and stilled my regrets.
Like a spirit bullet it did look,
giant and startling.
They want me to bring a strength quiet and delicate as the jewels of the prarie dance.
Whispering ghosts brought on by nature itself.
The snow and I are of the same boundaries.
And all the humankind of the ages grow with the
seasons fine veils.
Bending like tall field grass.
Changing states like water.

Shadows and Light

A few years ago I  had a 'store' that went by the name of Grandma Candle focused on dream pillows, beeswax candles and magical herb formulas. With a background also in screenprinting and film I started feelin' a tad stifled. One year ago before sleep an image in my mind for a new shop was of an old dress pocket dug up from the ground with ancient relics inside. And I dreamt the embroidered words "Ancient Pocket" were being carefully put by my husband on a foliage covered shelf appearing out of a hedge.

With a lighted silhouette of a loving couple a photo in a natural setting and a starry landscape.  I took the photo about twenty times in my backyard in July. It almost didn't happen.

Ha, ha.

Chilly here in Portland, Oregon. As I type the wind seems to be dying, first frosts came a week ago.  Not a "cold-weather girl" as a good friend of mine says, but doing my best to make the most out of time spent indoors.

If you were a sea creature, which would you be. Seahorses are my first choice. Thanks little man!
